any of you lads in malta in 77 had 2 weeks out there scuba diving with 42 exellent , i was only 17 and got took down the gut say no more i was 27 when i left , we had a couple of 4 tonners for use and our gear and the drivers respect where they took them .

i heard that once and it really stuck in my mind, though fortunaltey it doesnt really ring true at the moment. even when i came back from afghan in 2007 most people didnt know and didnt want to know about it. we just got told 'cheers lads see you in 6 weeks' and that was that. but the attitude of the public at the moment must be a great help to the lads coming back, as well as all the charitys set up to help. long may it continue.

hi Mark its not nogs its nods i dont know why, all i know i was one in 1984/85 and then i wasnt, it was much better not being a nod, it was not very nice being a nod i remember it well, it was orebul:lol: i went through a lot of PAIN at that time of my life ,but you know what they say- no pain without gain.

recruits are called nods because they are so tired the whole time they are always 'nodding' of to sleep. which normally results in press ups or getting thrown in the nearest body of cold water!
