i'd love to wear my softer walking boots to climb but do people not find they get stuck in forks and that they are too slippy, even with good tread? a harder rubber last on the sole seems to give it the grip you need on bark... i can see why the trango's or the krodas would be good, they are good solid scrambling boot.

Salewa gtx in the tree all the time. My meindls feel clumsy when I wear them in the tree. Unless I'm moving/working with heavy wood on the ground I still wear the salewas on the ground but I'm very conscious that my feet arent protected.

I wear steel capped safety boots while climbing.

Why would chainsaws be the only risk in the trees to you guys?

What about when you get to the ground, do you walk to the car and swap from your work runners to your boots? :001_tt2:

My boots have saved my feet from enough potential injuries in the tree to know they are worth having.

Mostly crush and puncture injuries.

Different work environments I guess.

I have two pair of boots that I take to work, miendl airstream, and either scarpa pro accent-for summer or la sportiva tango s gtx all year round.

Good topic this, in my opinion! you shouldn't be in a work position in a tree where you'd be cutting next to you feet.

For felling work and ground work I think it's a must.

Spot on!

Being employed and doing ground and climbing work,Its impossible for work let me wear my scarpa's all the time as much as i would like.
