You don't have to charge them £120.. Sounds alot to me. It takes me 20 minutes max to fill in a simple application online, including maps etc..

 

You can't be doing a very detailed application in that time then Ben

 

The last one I did I timed and it took me 3 hour of my time off, ie at night.

 

I filled in 4 copies of the application, 4 copies of photos, 4 copies of location maps (zoomed out) 4 copies of close up garden detail maps, 4 tree reports and 4 detailed schedule of works

 

If they want four of everything they get four of everything

 

That price includes initial site visit and any subsequent visits with the TO

The TO is an idiot if he wants to retain that tree.

 

I would just put in a 5 day notice of your intent to fell.

 

The danger does not actually have had occurred. Given the size of this tree and it's location,I think anyone can see it has become dangerous.(from your pics)

I wouldn't have even involved the Tree Officer, I would have just taken pictures and done the work. Nobody will disagree with you on that Dean it's fooked.

Do it online. You can download plans of the garden and stick in the trees in paint and zoom out and do location plots. I just use Print Screen then paste into paint and edit it there. If the trees have TPO's my council site even has the trees on the map for me (probably in the wrong place). It doesn't take long. If you've done a tree report for the client, it's easy to cut and paste. If the trees fcked as your example it don't take long to write a report.

 

The initial site visit is the quote and you don't often need to meet the TO.

perhaps the TO seeing the location & proximity to the property , may question / reason quite how this damage occurred, without the owners knowledge or was it deliberate & therefore a prosecutable offence willful damage £5000 fine

 

thats not squirrel damage or if it is the feckers on steroids

 

have seen similar bark loss when struck by lightning but I'm fairly sure that the client might have noticed that occurance
