Bobcat + log splitter idea ?

could you weld a vertical splitter onto a bobcat backplate. strengthen the table so that you could scrape it along the floor to pick up the ring then operate the third service to split the log? if you had additional services piped up you could use either an accumulator arm set up or a stroke processor / harvester feed wheel to turn the log on the table??

 

it would need to be a very large ie expensive accumulator to work a rotary motor is the auxiliary double acting or just a single feed and return

My log splitter is trailer mounted with honda engine about £2500 worth of proper kit which works a treat. I will leave that as it is I was thinking more £300 junk from auction somewhere. Needs to be easy to get on and off as bobcat has lots of other duties. Its just to knock down the stuff that is over 16" to something that can be picked up. If I put something together will put pic up.

 

 

My mistake, I thought you had a normal vertica; 'tractor' type splitter. Best get a s/h one and weld some bobcat brackets to it then, should work a treat.

Cheapest way enlarge splitter table and lift onto table with bobcat

I have a table for mine that will split upto 3ft rings

You could put a roller table to ease the friction a bit

I like the idea in one way. The problem I can see is he gets enough jams with 18in cuts it would be a night mare with 10in. The guard on that bar would not pass HS over here. I bet you eat some sawdust sat in that bob cat all day. would it pick up a 12in 10ft length. Apart from that looks great.
