as dave said mark. hollow fids are good for hollow braids such as tenex, icetail etc.. but even then wire fids work well. get into bro:)

I was thinking of saving a bit of time and just repeatedly stabbing myself in the hands with a variety of implements.

 

You're right Drew, need to get on the splicing bus this winter.

here it is, looks ace but not used one, heard good stuff though. Treeworker only uk stockists I can find.

 

Pricey imo. be interested to know what others think....

Could be the way forward for a cack-handed idiot like me with the temper of a sweating stick of nitroglycerine!

 

Yeah, it seems a bit pricey, but would be well worth the investment if it works well. I have trouble threading my belt through the loops on my trousers.

 

As Dak said, any comments on them most welcome.

To be honest Mark it works on same principle as normal wire fid except the fid is captive in the tube.

 

I don't think it would make a huge difference in all honesty.

I am however getting more confused by it all :blushing:

Cant wait to try splicing out but it wont be for a while yet till i get my finger out the proverbial:laugh1:
