hi guys need a little advice for my college work, what would the average cost usually be for each of the following:

felling

dismantling

general pruning

crown reduction

crown lift

crown thin

any info would help, cheers

No one can state a price for any of the above are there are so many variables.

More importantly, for the purpose of answering the question, every tree firm has a financial target that must be reached daily in order to cover costs.

Therefore, the question is onerous as the answer is, the daily target plus profit plus whatever else you think you can get on top.

My final answer is: Not enough! Plumbers charge more to drink tea all day:thumbdown:

In fairness it does say average... So if you take the question literally all he is really asking is what on average do you charge for this type of stuff? I.E. Whats a bog standard average removal for you, which you spend 80% of your working life doing.

That said, it's still a pointless question and is kind of idiotic to set. Might be better answering it with what average day rates are for climbers, groundies and plant. That actually might help you when you get into the working world.

Here we go Fella use this as an example so we have a bit to go on.

Im just hitting this a stab in the dark but would it sound about right?

The employer has a high sided lorry and the chipper is broke :001_tt2:

Tree to be dismantled to the ground.

Living reasonably locally to job.

Full day

Lorry - Already owned

Chipper (did this as renting the chipper for the day) £120

1 Climber @ £9 p/hour coming in at £81

2 Groundsmen @ Minimum wage around £108

Petrol + Mix - £8.00

Ive heard of tree surgery companies charging £25-30 per man for one hour.

So for 3 men you're going to charge £810 plus your running costs at £317 so final price is £1127 cash in hand (though £1352 with VAT)

If i have this wrong i do apologise, i dont own a business

If thats what your tutor handed you, and you havent been given any classroom work on how to work through any of it then I would seriously question the level of tuition your receiving! :001_huh::thumbdown:
