So go on then, has it made any difference??

Those of you from that area, it would be interesting for us northerners to know whether you can now drive in and around London freely with no jams, road rage or black cabs squeezing you out.

Is there any difference from how it was before or is the only difference extra money in the Governments coffers

The one thing that has realy messed things up is the low emitition zone.

traffic can nearly always be bad in a 7.5 tonner with chipper. I dont really work for firms who contract that often in central london. have done a few jobs at the Natural history museum but we always leave early. on a personal not I try not to drive into the c zone there are always ways around it, but the traffic is still screwed usually.

I did see though on an episode of top gear that they had look into the c charges and it works out that it was cheaper to register as a minicab driver than register to be a resident within the congestion charge area. so yes, i do believe it has increased the number of cabbies.

I still lived in London when that first came in.All it seemed to do was encourage people park at a train station abit further away than they used to, then get the train in.

It's just as crap, but worse when you go in then forget to pay online and get the £80.00 fine.

When it came in the parking got worse by the station outside, so in April this year around our local station they brought in resident parking only. Now i have to pay the government £400.00 per vehicle x 4 for the privelege of parking out the front of our shop.

Whinge over.
