hey guys jus wandaring if u pros no any good knots thta workk well with the hitch climber im currently on a distel veryy nice lol

Th knut is similar to the distel but I think its better. I go for a VT 3wraps 3braids but I think I have it a bit to long.

Tried the icicle for the last couple of weeks, back on the martin today, still the best if you like really short legs for minimal sitback. I find it needs 5 wraps with icetail but 4 with bail out.

If you look on 'proclimber.com' it should show you a few good knots. the gripping hitch is my favourate.

You just don't have it set right, i can decsend using my thumb and index finger nice and smooth.

 

Was a VT lover but got annoyed with its fickle nature and need for perfect tuning, the knute is a little more forgiving.

I feel the VT is a bit unreliable from time to time particularly if you are new in the game. For sure it isn’t the first knot I would recommend any one to start with. My favorite is a knot with many names “Martin”, “Michoacán” and even “The Eyetie Hitch”. It’s similar to the Knut and the man who introduced it was even thought he was climbing on the Knut. I use it with an Ice Tail Blue and 5 wraps. You have to try out by yourself how many you prefer. The picture shown 4.

I feel the same.......Vt wasnt doing it for me.......switched to this and cant fault it really........well i can but its small negatives are far outweighed.

i use a variation of that not in the pick, but with the two legs "tied together" (like the beginning of how you would tie your shoelaces) underneath the original tie bit after the wraps

 

works for me, never gets stuck or tight and self tends (most of the time)
