Your totally right T'quip, but regardless of HSE/Insurance issues modding saws is a complete and utter waste of time. Lifes too short to be pissing into the wind with a modded saw.

If anyone here wants to understand what modding a saw does to your personality visit Arboristsite.com....in the chainsaw forum you can see the remnants of hundreds of human beings endlessly yapping on about the intricacies of modding a saw and performance enhancement BS meanwhile their lives are frittered away into the abyss that is modded saw oblivion of which there is no way out.

Lol you do come out with some corkers mate i gotta give you that :001_smile:

The way I see it a more powerfull saw means less fatigue and quicker cutting, both mean I can go home earlier and less tired :thumbup1: otherwise I may aswell use a bow saw. :001_tongue:

cheers for the advice people... i have one question - why 13 ml hole needed? I is because that is the dia. of the existing pipe? or would 10/11ml be acceptable?

cheers

Its will probably be because of the percentage the hole is compared to that of the size of the exhaust port. If it makes sense :confused1:

So I went to port my old O2O but it needed some attention first. Its just been taken apart by a numpty who ripped the wires out of the top handle but I got it all back together and finally took home some fuel so I could tune it. Let it warm up first but when I try and tune it the revs chase up and down. Does this mean I have fitted the carboretor badly. When I did it I didnt have any instructions but it all seemed so obvious. Any advice? :confused1:

Also chain on or off.

I went for chain off.

Always tune with the chain on and properly tensioned.

As for the revs could be an air leak, check the rubber intake pipe that goes from carb to cylinder for damage splits etc, also make sure it is fully seated on the cylinder. Check the small thin pipe that goes from carb(well black plastic nipple on handle) to the cylinder see if thats split missing or not on properly.

Make sure the H and L needle are at the standard setting before messing about with them (1 full turn out )

a pertinent warning! can feel myself going greyer and losing my eyesight to computers with this new found addiction to wanting to know everything about porting (before having done any of it - which I suppose is the right way round at least??)
