So revving it’s warangas off and producing a shed load of torque dosen’t do them any harm then?

There is no increase in rpms- the increase is in torque.

 

As for damage, the extra heat produced by restricted gas flow would surley do more damage?

 

 

For the record Stihl produce dual port mufflers for a large proportion of there saws for the US and AUS market

Been porting saws for years now with no ill effects.

However, choking up the exhaust and stifling the saw does tend to shorten the lifespan.

 

Bob, who cares about noise? thats what ear defenders are for.

Besides, I started with the old square metal 020, that used to make your ears bleed at 20 paces:ohmy:
