hey all, iv got a problem with my 200T and wondered if anyone could help? its been a bit smokey, and now its not sounding right, and seems to cut out when starting, it runs ok but sounds like its gonna cut out, and when i turn it off it dose, realy quickly, any ideas? would rather fix it myself.

yea i clean it often, not ditched the spark arrestor and the spark plug seems fine, though it has been in for ages, ill check for damage to the air filter tomorrow, it just seems to cut out quicker with a quick thud, not right! but ill try spudlikeyou if all else fails.

If it is smokey it sounds like it is running rich, a holed air filter would make it run weak:confused1:

 

A fluctuating idle could be a number of issues to do with the carb and are unfortunately all too common with these saws. If the saw struggles to pick up or the idle increases in pace - be very cautious of air leaks - common with the carb boot.

 

The spark arrestors are only fitted on the open sided exhausts!
