Its a matter of weighing up the risk of cutting your soft link ( which if too long as i have stated before can be in a very vulnerable position ) or having a more difficult rescue if directly attached . These soft links MUST be kept very, very short or your completely defeating the purpose of a wire core flip line . I think this should be the climbers choice . :001_smile:

If your chainsaw is as sharp as it should be, not even chaps are gonna stop it. but wire core lanyards will withstand a lot and they will protect you from little cuts that would tear right thru rope. safety gear is great, paying attension is better.

If your cutting through metal core flip lines you need to re-consider your position in the tree industry:001_tongue:
