If you are based in wales, you can do the accreditation through Wood Fuel Wales, at a much reduced price.

Which is what i am doing

It seems to me that Wales know how to look after there own citizens as i know loads of lads that got all there tickets payed for but the scheme is only available in Wales which is a swine as i only live a few miles from the border .

Hetas sounds good if you have a lot of wood boiler customers who will need to buy Hetas assured firewood for the 'feed in tarriff scheme', but I dont think that it is definate that they will have to buy Hetas assured firewood yet, so dont bother unless it's neccessary , Hetas have reduced rates for small producers right now, but I'm not convinced there is any benefit to joining the scheme, its a lot of money and paperwork etc, at the end of the day, firewood is a 'local' product and people soon find out who is selling the best logs and spread the word

I think its only worth jioning the scheme if you start losing customers to your competitors who are in HETAS

Very true and you shouldn't lose customers if your selling good quality logs. I've gone down the route of trying to source all wood locally which keeps the carbon footprint to a minimum, most customers like the idea of "keep it local".

10 inches is to long really for most stoves in use, it can be a bit if a struggle to get them in and thats not good news with a hot stove. I cut at 240mm which is really as long as you want to be, that fits most stove openings which are usually narrower than the firebox perfectly.
