I am not reallly working this week as i have Olly (my son) for half term, but i made an exception yesterday to help a mate out on an interesting little excursion geting logs out of a river on his job. It was near Falmouth in stunning Cornish surroundings.(BTW the old chap was the tenanat who lived in the house where the trees were felled, not the guy I was helping LOL).

It was a very high tide.

They were felled onto the foreshore as access otherwise would have been a nightmare. Waited for high tide then towed out with the boat. It will all go for firewood except for one which we will put on the mill. Some of it had ben in the water / on the foreshore for ages anyway and had to be removed.

I bet they'll be drier after a week out of the water than they were a week after they were felled.

I was ripping Tom mate, thinking they were all for the mill!

I reckon you're right, timber still 'seasons' in water.

Look how well driftwood burns. Mind you, that be be helped by the Exxon Valdiz....:001_tongue:
