I'd go with Prunus sargentii or Prunus 'Kanzan', more the latter than the former but have a feeling i may be wrong

 

Look at the leaf colour it may help

Ok, you asked for it!

What this?

 

Leaves are definitely "cut" and have an alternate phyllotaxy, so not Acer, not Fagus either and Alnus cut leaves look a bit like Quercus, so...

 

I'd guess with the only other cut-leaved variety I know -

 

Betula pendula 'Dalecarlica'

Ok, here goes... Without the I'd books as I'm at work so..

 

Acer beurgerianum

Albizia julibrissin

Eucalyptus deglupta

 

My best guesses?

Original tree grows smack in the middle of work and home! (or at least a cutting from the mothertree that was found 1761 or somfing on the same location) So your guess was the swedish variety instead of the more common 'Crispa'?
