How far do you deliver firewood free of charge???

How much do you think is lost on free deliveries and productivity on any delivery over 10 miles?? ( that's a 20 mile round trip and approx £5 fuel)

Free delivery within 10 mile radius,£1 a mile after that.

 

To be honest thinking of reducing it to 5 mile radius.

free delivery up to ten miles, but the delivery charge is already in the price of the dumpy, so we knock 5 pounds off if people collect and charge an extra fiver or tenner for deliverys over 10 miles depending on distance.

I've worked out it costs me £0.225 per mile just in fuel, so 40 mile round trip looses me £9.00. The time taken can loose me at least a cubic meter in productivity, so a min of £60 + fuel+ labour

Hmm I can stay at home and loose money easier!!!

Up to 10 miles free delivery but you have to buy 2 cube min.

 

Over this then 2 cube min +£20.

 

More than 20 miles I won't do - too much time lost and I can only carry max 2 cube at a time.

This is almost identical to us we go 7 miles max 10 if pushed and its an easy run. 20 miles each way and you loose an hour which needs to be at least £20.
