An asian dude i knew up in the midlands had one of those.....he bored it out to 2.8 litre and Turbo Technics shoe-horned a turbo the size of a dustbin into it......it wasnt slow!!!

Couple of years ago there was a bonkers Triumph Dolomite Sprint ragtop with Rover V8, side exit exhausts, Borgworner auto, the works; on ebay and it sold for a mere 2k. Seen it mate! Not my cuppa tea with all that smoothed off look and gross orange paint job! Plus the slag-tag writing on the boot!

 

There's mods and there's mods. Hot-rods are proper and so are clean unadulterated classics imo but that is just mingin' !
