I really should keep my mouth shut :laugh1: most of my post end up in a 'disupte' :thumbup1:

Yogi, I was not having a go at you by any means. As Stevie says it has been covered before and the resulting threads have turned out with some "differing" opinions! Hence why I posted my can of worms, I could see where it was likely to go!:001_rolleyes:

Another good question you may want to ask on the mog subject is "what limitations are there using red diesel in mogs?" Room for more discussion, and many others but dont stop asking, its a good way of learning. Also gives interesting reading at times!

If you can get the powers that be to swallow it but they didnt believe me when I had a reailer ful of timber behind a tractor, VOSA said it was commercial haulage, which it was.

I lied and said I was forwarding it to a spot a few miles up the road with better acess for an artic, they chose to believe me and let me off with a waning, had to get a haulier in to move the rest.

Registration, taxation and licencing make no exceptions for "urban forestry"

Totally agree, but unfortunately there are an exceptional amount of people out there running rigs that will get them in big trouble if there was a major accident, regardless how they try and convince others, and even themselves they are "ok" to carry on.:001_huh:

Dont forget, Vosa have greater powers from Apr 2011 which means they can now stop you without the assistance of a Police Officer. If you are operating vehicles illegally (maybe not in your opinion) they will catch up with you.

Agriculture includes Farming, Forestry, Fisheries, I have been told that Gamekeeping is no longer classed as ag, but is now sport, but not sure if this is 100% correct at this time.

I see the arguments about MOGS rages on. The fact is we used to be able to use them on red all day long as far as we liked when we liked.. VOSA, HMRC etc.. do not like them, they have nipped up the law and the 'grey' areas are no more. I am amazed how many MOGS still rumble around on red carrying chip and log just waiting to get nicked. The penalties are so huge now that we see many nice set ups for sale at well below their true value. If you are still running such a beast, take care, they are after your MOG. Sorry to be so bleak, I am too tired of looking over my shoulder to run mine any more, and I loved bouncing along to work with the smell of red in my nose....Take care..

Very wise words.

It may hurt those reading this who still run in these grey areas, but what you say is true unfortunately.
