I've had the " There's someone selling bags at £30" this year. It hasn't stopped me putting mine up to £60 a bag which are selling fast.

If you listened to the moans and groans you would be out of business in a week and signing on. They have no idea of the work or costs involved in producing "good quality" firewood

I'm new to the world of firewood, having just had a wood-burning stove installed in the house. (I'm in rural East Yorkshire, not a million miles from Spurn Point).

To get me going, I recently bought 2x bulk bags of seasoned hardwood logs from a "local" supplier for £90 per bag. (There doesn't appear to be an abundance of suppliers in East Yorks, but then again, there's not too many trees either!!) Why then, when I had a trot down to the Firewood Fair at Revesby, did no-one even bid on a lot of the wood on auction? Can't remeber who it was but I was told by someone who brought lots of, err, lots, that they had set a reserve of £35 and it didn't get near to that. I got two bags which even allowing for auction fees and tax worked out at half the price I've paid at home. At that price, I wish I could have bought more but my van was full enough.

Am I missing something or is firewood either dear up here or cheap in Lincs?
