Or this one, my mates kid caught it from the shore a couple of days ago 11 1/2lb!

 

steal my thunder why dont you ! lol i reckon hes a really tiny kid judging by those waterproof trousers and that bass is only a couple of pound :biggrin:

that woukdl have swam free if I had caught it, too big to be going home in a body bag that one.

 

What’s the point of catching something if you aren’t going to eat it?

Its about sustainability and respect.

 

Says you, I say it’s about filling the larder and not causing suffering by “sport”.

 

Don’t get me wrong, I fish and shoot but for me it’s all about kill it cook it eat it.

thats fine, for you, and others.

 

but for me, i know it is better for the ecosystem to allow the big ones to get away to breed and further Big boy genes, it also means that someone else may catch him and be proud to hold a 10lb plus bass.:thumbup1:

How does the big boy thing hold up with sustainability?

 

If it were a necessity surely commercial fishing would have maximum return sizes rather than minimum

 

Sounds to me like it’s more about trophy and ignore the suffering.
