im loving the home brew splitter there spud :thumbup1:

chris.

It doesn't have to look nice, just do the job and for a £5 length of thick angle iron off the bay, it worked remarkably well:thumbup:

The bad point was a drill snapped whilst I was holding the thing and went straight through the fleshy part of my thumb - not nice:thumbdown:

Hi Guys

Question for the hot boys( Spud, are you there?). Pressure and vac testing on strato saws, do we have a proper method as I don't have enough thumbs or enough room?

Spud will be in bed with his horlicks now ;) pressure and vac testing a strato is done same as normal, but you have to block the intake with a plate (fitted between carb and intake boot)

Depends on which saws you are doing but you can generally use sheets of rubber between carb and manifold and can sometimes use felt tip pens pushed in to tunes on some Huskys, the 576 was one I did like this.

You just need to get inventive:thumbup:

Bought a ms 171 as spares or repairs of ebay hole in the oil tank, changed the tank all good! Using it last night and the brake band keeps jumping off?:confused1: will a new band cure the problem?

It may sound stupid, but is it jumping off once you've replaced the cover?

The end of the band does look bent out, so I'd replace it anyway
