Just start at one turn out on each. I usually take the carb off, remove the screws and then slot them:thumbup:

I did see a "poor mans adjuster" made from some coat hanger wire and a cable connector crimp - like a spade terminal crimp but with a wire crimp both ends - not tried it yet!

Thanks mate. :thumbup1:

yeah i know. its in the manual. but this one is working fine.:thumbup1:

was the meter valve, on inspection you could see the worn ridge on the end. new one in and a tune on screws as they where well out.

lol. I actually got the proper tool now it arrived today for doing the husqy etc carbs.

Ive always used the connector method, or a bit of tube pushed over the end up to now.

Done it quite a few times so thought I would bite the bullet and pay £15 for the tool. (no more than a glorified screwdriver) Prob wont have a use it for 6 mths now hehe

Tell you what mate the way the grommet lines up with the screws on the 142 I got here its easier to prob take the cover off and use the connector method. They don't line up and always off centre.

Prob easier to cut the nib end of a felt tip pen and push that over the screw to adjust them :sneaky2:
