What's on your bench today?

meant to ask you spud - you said you'd upgraded your us cleaner in an earlier post - what model did you go for? still happy with it?

Cheers

The one I had was a typical small US cleaner for normal house use, the latest one is a 3 litre capacity 20-80deg heated tank with 120watts power - I did a test with thick tin foil and it started to disintegrate so yes, I am happy with it - also invested in some proper carb cleaning solution and DI water:thumbup:

It has sorted a number of carbs already - no failures:thumbup:

I used a marker pen for the inlet boot on pressure testing the other day and the piston moved under pressure and nearly killed me

Next time I'm to to stand in front of it when doing it or I will go back to using the rubber stick ends....

Yes, they do have a habit of blasting out under pressure:blushing::lol:

I've just checked the IPL and it seems that the 038 uses nuts 0000 955 0801, which are the common nut used on most Stihls.

cheers Garden Kit. Popped into a shop locally today and they said the same thing, but we have tried the nuts and there is definitely a mismatch on the thread??? something odd going on me thinks

No need to run this one in, it has the original piston. It really shifts on a 20" bar - damn good on a 70cc saw - it would be good to compare this one against a 441 - wonder which one would win:biggrin:

I'd put my Spuderized 372XP into the equation, on the 18" bar it screams!

Spud - Jonsered up for sale or a project?

Nice job Barrie:thumbup:

Busy Saturday - Burrell dropped a load of big connie in my drive...thanks Martin - reason is that I had my ported Husky 181SE to test along with Stubbys 372XP (now ported) and my brothers blower, Stubbys 372XP is a weapon now - damn it is fast, the porting has brought it to life and appologies for the sound on one of the vids, it was that loud it sent my camera in to spasms:lol:

Wasn't digging Barrie - normally someone says "the saw is fooked":confused1:

With the Aspen conversion it is "changed my saw to Aspen and it is fooked!

All I know is that I can fire up a saw running on Aspen in the workshop without gassing myself:thumbup::lol:

Are we mates again:blushing:

I was not having a dig at you Steve, just a moan that in general we blame things we dont understand. We're still cool mate.
