I thought it was an Australian pick up truck :001_rolleyes: I'm avoiding faceache and tweeter for as long as possible but it looks like everything will only be available through them soon and you need to go on there to be able to "like" anything. It suits me not to be on there as I have a lot of the things I like and if I had everything I would have no room for it all.

ok back to saws.

 

has anyone got a husky 61 carb meter valve arm. got one that has broken, looks like it jumped from the diaphragm and snapped the end.

 

or where to get one please.

 

if i'm guessing right what you're talking about rich - ID the carb and then nick one from an old same type carb lying around. Alternatively phone the carb number through to Hugo and he'll send one with the spring and lever in a full carb kit

I carried out the repairs today to the ms200 I referred to in an earlier post, regarding the accelerator pump issue. I removed the aluminium plug and filled the hole with chemical metal, fitted new diaphragm set and it now runs as new. Thanks for the advice folks!

Just a quick reminder to all.

 

If your saw, brushcutter, blower, hedgecutter etc, starts to play up, STOP using it and get it fixed. Do not carry on with it, struggling to get the job finished, unless you are prepared to trash your kit.

 

I had a brushcutter in today with starting trouble, and low power. The owner had carried on using it for a week until he could spare the time to get it fixed.

 

The cause? Loose inlet manifold.

Repair time? Would have been 10 minutes. But now it has run weak for so long that the compression is down to 100 psi because of ring and piston wear.

So unnecessary.

Back on my bench, the 090! Not oiling at full throttle, meaning an air leak, as the oiler is driven by a crank impulse, and guessing as it's 44 years old, I would guess the fuel has eaten the pump diaphragm, as the manual oiler part works... One more reason for aspen I suppose!
