Tetanus - make sure your up to date

Just been for the jab today. was a year out of date. You have the tenanus, polio and diptheria jab all in one now. Was out cutting and chipping hawthorn and came home with loads of thorns in me, so thought it was time to go for a jab.

how long does it last for i think i had it done when i was 16 i can't remember....

I think it lasts 10 years. But not sure. It was 11 since I last had mine and they told me I was a year out of date

I went to have a blackthorn cut out of me last year and was told that tetanus is now considered to last for life.

Got told the same thing but i think it also depends on how many tetanus jabs you've had in the past, ive had three and was told that was enough to cover me.

Have just had a look on the net and majorety of sites seem to say you need a booster every 10 years, but like I say, I'm no expert

I fell into a customers septic tank. Nothing like it for making sure your upto date with jabs.

went for a tetanus jab recently and was told by the nurse if you have had 5 or more jabs in your lifetime your ok unless your going abroad somewhere like egypt.

Was told the self same thing, having had about 10 jabs by the time I was 30.
