12' x 8' workshop plans

I've decided I'm too tight to lash out £1500 in one go for a new workshop, so am thinking of building myself one as and when funds permit.

 

Any ideas where I could get a set of plans (for the frame especially)?

Buildings like this are pretty easy to design and build yourself TBH mark. I would thing that if you trawled the net then you would find some, but if you are intending to make yours from timber it ought to be pretty easy and inexpensive to buy raw materials and go from there.

 

(BTW did you ever get back to those people about that huge plane tree?)

mark, have you thought of an ex post truck office body ,they have a semi clear roof ,very light in side ,i got 1, last yr ,will pop a pic or 2 up if you want an idea ,mines 18x8 ,i think

I normally use 3x2 cls for the frame at 600 mm centers as it's a lot stronger than the normal 2x1. Then clad it in 18mm weather board not to expensive and looks good. For the roof make a few trusses up then use 4x2 for the perlins then cover with at least 12mm wbp ply then felt or torch on felt. If I can be of any help let us know as I'm a time served joiner

Cheers mate. That's more what I had in mind, but would like shiplap on the exterior (hence staggered cost!), probably with 9mm OSD internal.
