Decide if you want contract hire or lift hire. Speak to crane companies in your area and they may send someone out to survey the site to decide the size/type of crane. You will need to know the distance from the centre of the tree to the centre of the rigged crane. They will be able to offer advice. Have you done crane work before?

Why are you using a crane??

Hi. The tree has a significant split in one of the main forks and is fairly close to a Very busy main road. To make it fast and safe I want to use a crane

Never done a crane job before but the crane can get really close to the tree and with plenty of processing area fir the crane to lower branches etc. Just don't want to out price the job. Roughly how much is a large crane??
