yet another clutch slipping today, that the third in a year. I'm on 11/12mm on Yale xtc or Yale scorch. Getting fed up replacing them at £18 a throw..anyone else suffering this?:thumbdown:

this is something i had trouble with but then thought about how much hitch chord i used to go through - Lock Jack clutch works out cheeper every time

better that than wearing out your £100 rope!

I have had the same clutch for three years.

 

I don't work in the rain which could be a major factor. A dirty gritty rope will rip a clutch to bits in no time.

 

Also if I do a long decent I take some of the load off the clutch by holding the tail of the rope

ah well, I'm back on a hitchclimber and knut for a bit, might just use my lockjack for the up and down sort of jobs!
