Looking for some advice on whether or not to buy a Vermeer BC1000.

What im really after is some feedback from owner/users of these machines.Do they chip well, do they break down, any common faults?

We intend to put it out mainly doing back garden work, so it must be able to deal with everthing from take downs to hedge clipping jobs.

Honest answers please

Yes, Yes and Yes! Buy it.....Best chipper I've ever used ( and we've had a few!) Its a beast to pull round all day, its heavy if you need to man-handle it anywhere...but BOY can it produce some chippings!

Its speeded my jobs up no-end....we simply put everything through the chipper. No cutting or snedding before hand, if you can lift it and get it to catch on the feed-roller it'll eat anything! :001_smile:

The dealer says its a 10-12 inch machine, can it easily handle that size. At the other end of the scale how does it cope with hedge clippings and smaller material- I appreciate your answers

It will chip 12 inches, I just turn the feed roller speed down nice and slow. I've never put hedge clippings through it so wouldnt know about that. The BC1000 is a big machine for big jobs. :thumbup1:

J the tree, I bought a 1000 and it is brilliant. Had it 2 years. Chips anything and everything: 10 inch limbs ( on low roller speed ), hedge clippings, Russian vine, Virginia creeper, ivy, road cones - you will love it. Ours is single axle. Maintenance is straight forward - oil and filters every 250 hours. Blades and bolts take about 30 mins to change. After sales service from BTrac is first class.
