wasps nests ,!!!!!!!!!!!

we found 3 , in the same garden today all within 150ft of each other,good wasp spotters them hedge trimmers :laugh1:

 

anybody else found this many ??

 

5 within 75 metres of eachother. All very active and next to a well used (now closed) desire line path. Found one this afternoon out with the dogs on the edge of a newly surfaced path.

Seven nests in garden hedges this season. They've all been what I believe to be the 'German' wasp; bit smaller than 'our' wasp & very aggressive. I blame the EU for letting 'em across here.

My little cocker 'Jess' was attacked by a swarm, probably more than a hundred on her. She moaned a bit less about the stings than I do!

A little tip, if you need to do the job yourself, a good heavy rag soaked in diesel and left under the nest if accessible will do the job overnight, or if the nest is underground a piece of pipe and pour diesel in. Get well covered up though :biggrin:

Not very eco friendly I know, but simetimes needs must.
