Going back to the compressor I bought, he also had another 25l receiver from an almost identical compressor but no motor or anything on it. I did wonder about the possibility of joining the two together thus giving me 50l.

Does anyone know if this would work? Would it perhaps half the life of the pump?

I think it's 250l, huge for a tyre garage anyway.

Well your hydrovane is plenty newer than mine but I believe I have the edge in receivers, 250l is nowt, that green thing against the wall, that’s my receiver, came from a pallet making factory where they ran more air nailers than you can imagine.

first one has very little power... 2nd one is a 20 tonne hydraulic bottle jack which is operated by air,, the handle by the side of it operates directly to the hydraulics ( useful whilst you wait for the compressor to build up pressure again!!!!!!) :001_tongue:

I love the way number 1 manages to chuck stuff up the yard, give it something knotty and watch the compressor flog it’s guts out.

I like the way it clangs as the ram plate hits the cutter! Must need sharpening quite often. :laugh1:
