Owa youngen bought one of those "tree surgeon ropes" off eBay, description said it wasn't ce marked but this guy knew it was good enough to climb on. Long story short it wouldn't be any use as a dog leader he's not the brightest haha

If it's going to work you would have to provide competitive prices and people would need to trust what they are buying, eBay seems a bit of a minefield when buying. I can't see how the shops I've dealt with advertised on here could be beaten but saying that I do wish you the best of luck nowt wrong with trying mate:)

thank you very much for your imput, I will be selling products bought from the uk distributers, not the dodgey gear you still see. and I complety agree about the prices, I will have to have small proffit margins and pray on high selling figures!

thanks for your imput.

a side note on selling with ebay.....if u sold £7000 car what would it cost.....their selling fees are a minefield.......would i be right in thinking 10%.......£700 seems alot

Hi thank you for your imput, fortunately that is not how fees work on ebay! basically domestic sellers pay 10% on any sale under £400, and say you sold a motor for 7K you would only pay about £200 which I personally think is a small amount for the exposure you get.

basically for me as im a top rated seller and turn over a certain amount a month my fees are only 4% of turnover. dosent stop me paying them £250 a month though!

I have bought a few things like fuel cans the odd bar and chain, these have been from one retailer who sell's a lot on the bay.

There seems to be not much love for your idea but i on the other hand say why not give it a go. Yes it will be hard to beat the big retailers but it is hardly impossible just means your margins will be narrow, if your not out to make millions you will do ok.

I have never seen rubbish sell the way it does on Ebay and most of it is overpriced, i started a thread on it a while back about the the price of the ms200 used being more than a new one.

I friend of has a store on Ebay selling poly bags for parcels and is turning over more than 100 k per year he has 6 other people selling for him and i can remember everyone telling him he was mad.

thank you for your imput, I think I know the supplier you are on about, I have bough a few things off them in the past, but by the looks of it they seem to specilise in domestic gardening products. I could be wrong,

thanks for your help.
