Hi guys

Has anyone got any pics on how to use and set up the purple asender that petzal make.

Have i got to use a static line or not and could it be used for anything else other than getting up the tree easyer

They have many uses in different configurations. I'd personally learn a little more about systems before "finding a use" for a piece of kit.

Sorry if i sound dismissive, it's not intended, but using new kit requires extra care. I agree with the sentiment "low and slow" for any change in working practice

its a chest ascender which would generally be used in a SRT kit along side a few other gizmos.

i have no idea what you do or what experience you have or for what needs you have but i would look more towards a pantin or a hand ascender but please either find out how to use them properly or get some instruction of one form or another if you go to petzl site you can find basic instructions that would come with them to see if they tick your needs

but please beware a little knowledge is usually more dangerous than NO knowledge

hope that helps

Was thinking of using as a adjustable strop but to loosen it off to give off more rope its not that easy as it doesnt have any release buttons or anything
