Id climb it and knock limbs off and fell the butt :001_cool:

Heard a story about a chap chogging a butt down and catching the sections, a length swung in and went through the side of the butt, the tree hose piped failed and crushed him to death

Out of interest, does anyone know of a case where a tree failed at the base whilst being climbed? Not root plate, I know that's happened.

Mark, I think thats how Dr Peter S Donzelli was killed (climbing above a damaged section on a stem which then failed). If anyone was 'well informed' then it was him.

That said, I would have loved climbing that lime...but then I dont know any better!

as a climber who has had little experience in felling but plenty climbing, i would rather climb a tree like that than attempt a fell.

don't agree, id be more than happy to climb it but would rather fell if poss, just cause its easier

Whilst I still think a straight fell would have been my chosen route, it would have been an interesting hinge for sure!

Thats why id be happier to climb
