But, I feel the majority of you are missing a point about the strap. All this talk of it coming loose and its anchor security is not the issue. The position of the strap is!

 

If you look at the angle of the strap, you will see that if the vehicle were to move backwards on the trailer, it would simply drive over it, regardless how tight the strap was.

I'm not sure if I'm more shocked by how it has been strapped or the fact that a few people seem to think it is ok.

 

As a minimum there should be 3 straps holding the dumper onto the trailer.

It is disgraceful that some people didn't see much wrong with that photo or find what they did see acceptable at all

 

The dumper actually arrived at it's destination when I took the photo and I didn't "have a word with the driver" because I intend to take other action, especailly after seeing them bring more plant on site today.

 

I was mad at this jerk because he drove onto site over speed humps like a loon so was very lucky it did arrived still on the trailer. Had he been a steady driver, I may have had a word with him. But this guy clearly shows total disregard for other human beings

Its not an ifor williams. The wheels are ok for 3.5 tonne not sure from the pic about the hubs but its all looking 3.5 tonne ish

Ifor williams only make the larger trailers with proper springs as far as I know not those rubber things which go hard with age. The bulk head does not look like ifor. I would say bateson or indespension. being a sad trailer spotter.

Bloody hell you have good eyes- i never spotted the suspension!! I agree though, and that headboard is wrong as you say, and the legs at the back look wrong. I just put it down to the age of my old ifor!
