With Great power comes great Responsibility; Ben Parker. Amy Winehouse I believe made her decision a long time ago about the future of her life. She did not choose wisely. May the Solider who lost his life in combat RIP and my deepest condolences for his family/friends. The people of Norway have suffered a terrible loss at the hands of Terrorist willing to kill if someone is deported. These people never had a chance esp. the campers who's hopes and dreams were all wiped clean. I understand how numb the people of Norway feel at the moment and also the selective reporting the news media will continue since for the most part they to have sold their souls along time ago.

Slightly off track from the main topic of conversation here but I don't think enough is made of the addictiveness (is that a word?) of hard drugs. It's all well and good to say that someone has it all and has pissed it up the wall but until we are in such a position of being addicted and stuck in that cycle, it's hard to pass judgement. Anyone who has tried and tried again to give up smokes or alchohol etc would maybe attest to that. Being a social drinker, binger drinker and full blown alchoholic are only a few small steps away from each other. I doubt Ms. Winehouse was coherent enough for long enough to kick the habit. This has little to do with media coverage etc i know but maybe we just need to reign things in a little.

That is very true but off track of this thread. Addiction is a terrible thing and i know many addicts of drugs, alcohol, smoking (myself) etc but there is many addictions you probably wouldnt even have thought of and a lot of them are media induced like addiction to diets, tv, Arbtalk and there is even a water addiction!

There are many drug addicts and few of them are sad cases of getting caught up in something they didnt understand, but the vast majority are complete wasters with no real ambition or just complete idiots. The problem is they all get tarred with the same brush.

The paper i read today had far more coverage about Norway than Amy Whinehouse.....its the TABLOIDS......dont read them if you dont want to see or hear about celebreties.

A life is a life who's ever it is. Amy Whinehouse is still somebodies daughter.....respect should be shown. Equally for those in Norway or indeed anybody who loses their life and leaves loved ones left behind.

Did anyone else notice how the Sun had "Al - Quiada Massacre" as the headline on the front page when it had nothing to do with them?

Sorry to open a can of worms...

this just shows how they dont care about truth, when they get a story that will sell papers then they make up the bits they dont know.

I read the following on another forum regarding her death, and I must admit, it made me think...

'Get rid of pete doherty of babyshambles as well and the kids of today might stand a chance'

Yea cause those two are responsible for all the problems that the youth may have.......nothing to do with Parents eh?

i want to delete this thread right now tbh, my reasons are the title, it is not a touchy subject, you have slagged off a girl who has just lost her life. You have branded her ' junkie ' and you didn't have the decency to call he by her first name.

So what is your actual arguement here?:confused1:

this is not a thread i would normally get involved with like many others im used to the press reporting sensationalist rubbish with the only motivation to sell paper,

however after reading that the thread may or may not have been deleted on the basis of one persons opinion it reminds us of the power of media and censorship

kinda like a super mega rupert murdoch thing

imagine if he had a big red button!!
