Hi guys,

Just done a quote for removing a dead standing oak which is in a conservation area. As it is dead do i still need to contact council planning department for permission to fell? and do i need to replace with a new tree? I know if it were alive i would need to do this but as its dead i am unsure.

Thanks for your help

If its TPO'd you need to notify them that its dead and your going to remove it and it will need to be replaced.

If its just within the conservation area, take pic's that make it clear that its dead and then remove it.

A CA notification is to give the LA the chance to TPO the tree, they cannot TPO a dead tree.

I would give them 6 days notice and still take pics, felled a prominent dead ceder on Friday in a conservation area notified them heard nothing but sure I will get a call next week, I think it takes them 6 days to open post once on there desk let alone giving you the go ahead in that time !
