He worked for a town parish which encompassed 4 villages as well. His job was to keep the rights of way clear and to inform us of problems with the infrastructure. He didn't do that annoyingly and moaned when he was dragged in to plant pansies in the borders.

what a good job to have not a hard job keeping them clear and letting you guys know my countryside lot do not want to know of anything i have to report back to parish and they get me to do the jobs eg putting back up finger posts and mending stiles. as for planting pansies in borders not yet. worst job is litter picking i hate it. and last week strimming away and hit something next thing covered in strongbow and i stunk. if counciler had come along he thought i had been drinking. and it was 3 full cans i hit and they all shot strongbow over me:biggrin: the lengthman is a good little job to have own boss as long is jobs are all done. hardly see anyone. to have a full time job as one nice little number.

Since the last post i have found 28 nests on our sites in various places and of varying sizes, strimmed a wildflower bank which was full of litter(5 bags in total), been getting a winter work plan sorted, and ordering two new heavy duty mowers as our old ones are slowly falling apart.

Next week we have this wonderful plant to pull up. I have never known the site to be so bad for it but this year it has gone wild and we have left it too late to blast it with roundup.

I went a walk down the local fishing pond the other day and noticed a lot of Himalayan Balsam growing round the brook that feeds it. The seed pods are popping like crazy right now.

Not a bad start to the morning. Had two massive bonfires to get rid of the travellers arisings today. Glad the highways guys stayed with their JCB as it was alot easier than hand balling in onto a raging fire. Also had a large ash limb over a bridleway. The job sheet said the branch was less than a foot diametre.

Not a bad day. Lots of clearance to be getting on with. Unfortunately picked up the wrong jerry can but didnt realise until we got on site. Used the fuel anyway with not too many problems other than lots of smoke on run down from idle.
