how much should this job cost

Yeah but doesnt make good financial sense to the customer who now knows (as you have put on a public forum) that you will be charging £100 to "bash" it out in an hour. Not really justifying your costs is it. Infact making you look a bit sneaky I think. No offence intended just feel its a bit unfair to the consumer for you to openly admit that you will have already earned your money that day.

I did say £100,maybe less,I wont price anything firm on a photo.

regarding the forum,no ones quoting,we are discussing what it might cost, and how we might give the customer good value,in my case by doing it on the way home.

I dont have to justify my costs to anyone but myself if I were to price a job,and if I can earn a bit more by hitting a second job on the way home whats wrong with that,I bought my kit to work it, not clock off a 5 every day.

Some days you do well, some not so,if the price I loosly sugested is fair, then the circumstances dont come into it.

So as to negate the sneaky bit,and be fair to the consumer,(as I always am),I would do it before the main days work, that way I havnt 'already earned mymoney that day',:sneaky2: is that any better!

From the photos given I would say £150 would seem About right.

No offence mate,we are just throwing it about(the prices),but if I could do it for less than your £150,surely that makes good sense to the consumer, and if I did it on the way home to save THEM some money, how does that make me look sneaky?

As I said no offence,just discussion:001_smile:

£250 and you've got a deal.

We're all men of the World. We've been to Calais.

Does looking at it on google street view count?

I'd say £150 for me on that job, spike up the back, bosh off in one cut, trying to create some fracture pruning habitat and feed it to Gloria and the groundy to the piranhas if he's not quick enough

Yeah, I didnt word it as I thought it in my head. I wasnt actually trying to call you sneaky, I said it sounded abit sneaky.

Its all gone a bit messy and Ive forgotten the true point of my issue. I think i just didnt like the phrase "bang it out in an hour". Or something. It just came across to me as if you didnt care for the customer and their tree. Do you know what I mean??? (im not sure I do now)

I think If you had put "

its only a fairly small job in comparison to my usual work but obviously i do have overheads so there would be a price attached. Going off the photos I would estimate that figure to be around £100.

Then I wouldnt have taken issue.

Anyway no harm done. Sorry bud.

Not at all mate,no need for sorries:001_smile:

Bash it out does sound a bit careless, its a term we use round here a bit, more meant towards getting stuck in rather than a 'bodge it & scarper'type of thing. But I can understand how it might have come across..:001_smile:
