There should be links on the planning portal to external mapping sites. Then just plot the tree or trees position. If there are no links try the land registry. It'll cost you about 20.00 for the map.

Failing that, and it should be acceptable for TPO works, screen shot a street map or google earth shot and plot the tree on there.

No don't give up. You can actually (with most Councils) just hand sketch a plan including the tree, adjacent trees and buildings and a North arrow.

Post this to them and all should be cool.

You'll get better at dealing with this process the more you do it and don't forget to charge a bit extra for your time.

I used to get so wound up by having to fill electronic forms in, that I would give up.

Don't bother with the planning portal... it will just do your head in (eventually)

Do this instead.... get the treework form from which ever council you need, here's the link for all of them

Planning Portal | 1-App

if you don't know which council it is then use this site:

Directgov:

Print out the form, fill in the form by hand, scan it then submit by email (as a PDF), check a week later to make sure they have it and bob's your uncle!

By filling it out by hand you won't have to try and attach maps etc.

  • 3 weeks later...

Right, managed to submit my app a little while ago.... it turns out that the TO was on holiday at the time...... got a call from someone whom said i needed to speak to the TO when he got back. I did this and every thing was ok with my app  thanks to all that helped

He said he'd be looking at it this week....

How do i get a reply? will it be by email or will i have to log into planning portal and look somewhere on there??

Cheers Chris (i will get there in the end lol)
