maybe you should have given in or given them some - they are bad advert now.

I disgree - stand your ground and charge your price.

When you give in like this the customer then thinks you must have been overcharging in the first place and this then gives you a bad reputation.

I took it as a joke. It cost me £100 to purchase cord process and deliver. This takes 3 hrs so leaves £20 an hr for my time. 2cu metres loose for £160 . Cant see myself doing it for £40 . I hope he was joking :confused1:

we'll stick at £75-00 per cube h/wood and £60-00 soft.

we currently have customers upto 40 miles way from us who prefer our logs to cheaper, local suppliers.

about 40% of new customers are now from word of mouth.

i think with the ammount of new stoves being fitted, and the power co's buying up woodland left right and center, woodfuel prices can only go one way.

just for a laugh i offered one of our local '£30 a bag' people a free load of rings the other day. Euch is such a joy to split when its been ringed up for a year :blushing:

I always get annoyed at competitors calling a builders bag 1 cubic mtr of logs. Says so on bag so public are easy to dupe. The problem is that the prices are the same roughly as mine by volume, ie £35 a bag compared to my £100/ cubic mtr. According to public, they an get a cubic mtr for £35, so they think I am extortionate. It's an achingly slow process of education and word of mouth recommendation.
