Helping Rob Rainford Load a 16ton farm trailer with chunks of wood all hand balled in the middle of Liverpool at 8pm and doing it for free Good deed of the year for me.

i was driving back to the yard when a kid on a bike got hit by a bus. i was first on the scene and carried out initial first aid until apassing nurse stopped. the lads sorted out traffic. the kid was unconscious but soon came round and seemed to be ok apart from severe grazing all over and possibly broken arm.

 

The police were useless i managed to find the kids address out and send one of the lads round to inform them otherwise he'd have gone to hospital by himself.

 

Main think kid will be ok but didnt half give me a shock.

I Just stopped at car accident not sure how long ago it had happened, but a car had proper hit a lamp post at a busy junction, with a guy still at the steering wheel I pulled over to check he was all right. No one had bothered to stop to see if he was OK turns out he was just shaken up, so I called the police so they can get the car lifted, and sort the lamp post.

 

Most annoying thing is every one was slowing down to have a good look, causing more traffic and nearly another accident. I can't work out the cars that must have seen it happen just driving off:thumbdown:

 

 

haha i did this once then after they took the girl to hospital i had stayed with for an hour (bearing in mind she had 2 broken legs) the copper noticed i had no road tax oooops! got let of with a warning, for being a good citizen and stacey made a full recovery and still talk to this day even though we had never spoken to each other before.

It amazed me how many people rubber necked at the scene but didnt stop to help. they would think different if it was their kid.

Unfortunately a lot of people are afraid, some would faint at the sight of blood, others get in a flap and are useless in a crisis.

 

What really upsets me is when a woman feels threatened when you offer to lift her pram off a bus or change her tyre, THAT is a sad sad stae of affairs

That may just be a result of the slightly crazed way you start mumbling about VTA and mycelium at them

me and my mate helped an old man (80ish) who had fallen and whacked his head on the pavement, my mate sat with him while i ran to the local health centre (round the corner) for a nurse and to ring an ambulance

 

he had an egg sized lump on his forehead and blood everywhere but in the end he was fine coz we helped:thumbup:
