what do you think make better logs? split logs or logs done on the sawbench or is it all the same. all my logs are done on the sawbench and i prefer them for burning but i think people prefer splilt logs.

hi i prefer to split as the torn fibres get very dry and catch nice and easy but dont think there is much in it when fire alight maybe a bit less waste when splitting as no sawdust

i find when cutting slab wood on the sawbench the logs seem to burn hotter and last longer then split logs plus i just think they look better done on the sawbench and its faster then using a splitter

Split will dry faster as the moisture can escape via the split face, otherwise is only escapes from the end grain.
