What good groundie gloves?

Ah- Fellow sufferer

Blaze heated gloves the only winter solution for me

Unfortunately they're not 56 pence:thumbdown:

 

 

Yep me too I have the same real big problem and have been through the lot t. So went in surch to find find a solution and I came up with these . They are the big blue marygolds I buy them in large and then I put a tiny thin pair of fleece gloves underneath these are used in the fishing and saling industry as are compleatly waterproof And oil prof and cost about 2.50 a pair . They are bulky for climbing but for grounding in the wet and cold they are my soulition to my fingers falling off they work They work . I get a few smiles at work but it's a small price to pay .

 

When it's dry and warm I use a brown leatherette type glove not sure what they are called as they come as standard ppe with my rope access job but they are ecxellent and are great for climbing but the do let water but I lv them

i wear these for all i do (fencing scrub clearance) and they last a good time, these also do them lined but my hands get so hot i don't need them.

Roping gloves are pretty good on ropes (funnily enough) and leather etc even in the rain. I used a lined pair for a bit. They will be good in winter

I use those yellow riggers on the ground for the harder stuff and rubber ellastic engeneers gloves in the tree and some times on the ground, I get about 2 weeks out of the rubber gloves $5 and the riggers last for ever, I tried gill they lasted about 20 day climb and ground, I got some that had a leather palm but a MTB or sailing glove style ellastic back, they used to cost about 7 pounds from B&Q, and lasted a month ground and climb.

As for value, I was'nt disapointed in the 2 pounds a day the gill gloves cost me they were awesome in the tree. so I say its horses for courses.get two different pairs.

I do not much else than hedgelaying when it gets cold enough to wear long sleeves and i wear these really quite expensive but really good quility nice fitting gloves They last really well, I've been wearing two pairs last season and they're both still un-torn etc. The puncture resistance does get affected by its age but only when they're wet. I used to wear the welding gauntlets but they'd normally last just a few days and be uncomfortable while they did. It seems a lot for glove I know, but I'd still have these if they were twice the price they are.

I got hold of a load of the ones TNCountry posted a link for. They were £1 a pair as they were end of line or something. Still got mine and they've done from about September last year. Granted I'm not on site all the time and I don't use gloves religiously, but they have done remarkably well. Rubbish for climbing though. No grip.
