Not quite.

You could have a trailer & car combo that has a total gross train weight of less than 3500kg as long as the trailer loaded weighs less than 50% of the tow car unloaded.

So a car that has a kerb weight of 2000kg (and a gross plated weight of under 2500kg) can tow a trailer with a plated weight of 1000kg all on a post 97 non trailer car licence.

Then I will re phrase

When you pass you will be able to drive a vehicle of 3500kg and WITH IT tow a maximum of 750kg

The vehicle combination you cite is not commonly available and in tree work at least not what you would call practical.

The commonly available vehicles and chippers mean a transit or similar and a sub 750kg chipper, otherwise known as the pencil sharpener club.

What’s your budget?

Are you going to be employed or self employed?

The standard combo for tree surgeons seems to be a 3500kg tipper and a towed chipper. You can get chippers that are under the 750kg that will be your trailer allowance.

I'm willing to pay whatevers needed since I'm only 19 just left college and got ny 30 31 38 39 st johns ambulance first aid still companys want exsprince so trying to get every thing like driving etc with trailer so maybe one will give me a chance
