Sorry Mark,

My Damdsung can'y post smilies but just imagine me giving you a big...

No thanks necessary Ty, no, really.

Your local mechanics will love your Deuxcheveau!

Off to near Cahors next week, I'll see if I see anything that appeals over there.

Navara, L200, Hilux, Ranger, Isuzu and Landys all seem to have issues depending who you talk to. Can't comment on the VW.

Bon chance.

i have an old land rover, if you want reliability and comfort land rover defenders arn't the best choice but they have plenty of character. i would go for the new toyota hilux or the ford ranger, possibly a mitsu l200 but the pre 2004 engine has a habit of self destructing

Would you include Range Rover in that Nick?

I'm a long way off finding out myself, but the game bird breeders near me are replacing their Hiluxes with LPG RR's to tow their trailers.

They reckon they can pick up 06's for silly money.

Have you been in many X5's?

I have yet to go in one that is anywhere near as good as a rangerover and they are about on par for reliability and repair cost. Just dont use main dealers.

Also the 3.0 petrol X5 auto is a horrible weezing thing, I strongly recommend you avoid it.
