How many loads a day do you do?

 

As you know it all varies so like today they've just took 4 bulk bags out, yesterday 2 bags to a customer, so at the moment it's just trickling along but hopefully will start picking up, what about yourself?

recently had a week off and went to the scotch borders saw a sigh in a shop window logs for sale £60 per ton

Where abouts are you, we're in a relatively well populated area so adverts in newspapers, and the odd shop windows helps alongside the website

Firewood is not my main business. Margins are crap anyway.

Some weather forecasting models are indicating an early Arctic blast could develop in late October. Early days, but it's encouraging.

It's picking up for us now - doing about 20 loads/40 cube a week plus our regular larger orders.

And don't know about you guys but talking of sycamore I'm not a massive fan of bring it, oak, Ash, cherry, silver birch, hawthorn, beech, etc I find burns a lot better

40 cube a week is good going for early October, well done nate, what volume do u hope to sell a week when it's gets busy and cold?

Hopefully we'll do a consistent 50 cube a week. That's about the most we can dry cost effectively but we've got 200 cube cut ready as a buffer if we get busier.

 

As well as that we've got some bigger stuff for biomass and a bit of chip so we'll keep busy.

 

Unfortunately the joystick failed on our processor today and I don't think our temporary fix is going to hold up so I can see us falling behind with the cutting if we're not careful..
