Hows the log sales going now

We're only selling a few loads a week now and a bit of chip but we've got a lot of farm work on so that's ok.

We buy in as soon as we're below the overdraft limit enough to afford it. ;)

The problem we have is that we're increasing by 200 ton this year so that's another 11-12k we have to have sitting in the stack for 12 months.

The odd load here and there but basically dead. Going to try and sell some green over the summer but dithering about how best to advertise it.

William. Yes get as much in now cut and in cord to leave time free to deliver come the winter. Also the ground is relatively dry at the moment making getting the timber out from the woods and into the storage area much easier.

Yh we coppice a small bit of out woods around Feb so we havnt got to worry about to much brush and then extract it around now although we've had torrential rain, very weird weather, meant we still havnt harvested the hay yet!!

And same with us gdh always plenty to get on with

How do u process your wood mark, presumably with some decent kit as it may be a bit if a struggle keeping up with demand with an axe hey ;)

12 vertical splitters Lancman 26tons, conveyor belts, feeder.

Outside there are workers working with chainsaws that cut the logs to 25,33,or 50cm. Then everything goes into feeder that goes to conveyor belts which run behind the splitters. Its done with hand...thats the only way to make your pallet look good.

28 people morning shift, 28 people afternoon shift. 8 truckloads on a good day and I still dont have enough firewood.
