Hello guys, we are using Hakki Pilke 37, doing great job in our production plant, just you have to be on time with maintenance. Hitting same numbers and exported over 250 45ft containers of kiln dried logs this season to UK and Ireland, orders are coming in because of EU referendum is coming, so probably some of the companies want to stock up if you will quit.

they will have to learn to burn soft and start some serious planting programmes there's mile after mile of hillside in Scotland with just a few subsidised sheep on them better to subsidise trees instead

I couldn't agree more - we actively promote softwood and always have done.

 

As you pointed out, there are still thousands of acres of available sites on home soil that could support the cultivation of soft/hardwoods.

 

I am all for pulling the plug on imported timber a soon as possible - it may just help the UK Firewood producers / harvesters / cutters get a fairer price for their products / services.

Yh I agree we should push more for growing our own, as for for what I said I did say less so my point was is we effectively only import what we need, besides there was a chat on another thread about arb waste, the amount of arb waste that literally goes to waste and just rots away, all wood that can/ should be utilised and I know people say it isn't viable but when you think the arb waste is free yet you have to pay for cord wood I think there wouldn't be a lot of difference in the profit margin, and not all arb waste is rubbish, we had a lovely load of oak with it mostly of rather straight approx 4ft -6ft long limbs all around 10-14" and it went through the process er lovely

As it's been a bit cold for the past week got a couple of orders in but nothing to shout out about, been very busy processing though also been busy selling our plants etc at market, aswell as been busy making up hanging baskets for a couple of days, even when there's no logs there's always something that needs doing!!!

Anyone still selling much wood, what about cordwood, are any of you getting a load in now ready for winter, when do u Normally prefer to but in cord???
