lol, I thought you was going to Barchams yesterday?

 

At the ATF meeting in Dartmoor last we they spoke of an apple tree grown by a family of eccentric fruit growers, it had 300 separate varieties grafted onto one root stock!

 

so many in fact they had run out of graft spots!

 

awesome, like you say, its a very British obsession!

I was supposed to be at Barcham's for both the seminars this week, but I've suddenly found myself with three jobs taking priority over jollies and I was busy being empowered and getting my warrant card yesterday. Look out!!!

 

They showed the original Bramley and I did think of you :biggrin:. It's crazy to think that over two million trees owe their existance to material taken from this one tree.

 

 

 

I thought the bit on cizer might appeal to Mendiplogs :lol:

This must be a nightmare to prune, or even keep track of each variety, because of the difference in vigor between them.
